Help,.. Dbus warning

Is dbus running and was it compiled to put its socket in 
/opt/gnome2/ ?

If not you need to have hal compiled to look
in /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket.

Perhaps there is a system wide environment variable that can do this.
Anyone else know?
