D-Bus 0.35 "In a Bind" has been released. There are numerous bug fixes
including the notorious bus lock when auto-starting services in rapid
succession. Also added is the ability to pass command line arguments
when launching auto started services.
The big story is the first consumable version of the GLib bindings.
Though we can't guarantee API stability just yet Colin Walters has
stated that the bindings are ready for use outside the lab. He is very
eager to get feedback from real world applications using the bindings so
he may tweak them and make them rock even harder than they do already.
The Python bindings have also seen some changes including the splitting
out of the service and glib modules. In order to use the glib mainloop
one must simply import dbus.glib after importing dbus. This will allow
other mainloops to be readily integrated into the python bindings in the
future.
Even more rocking is that both the GLib and Python bindings show up in
the tutorial for the first time. That is right, real documentation to
get you started on those D-Bus hacking projects you've been dreaming up.
