Using hal and dbus produced by jhbuild

Hi,

Currently I use jhbuild to install gnome in /opt/gnome2.
Can somebody tell me what I need to do exactly if I want to use dbus and
  hal produced by jhbuild i.s.o. the ones currently on my system. I'm
running Debian sid with a 2.6.11 kernel but Debian still is running with
dbus 0.23 and hal 0.4.8

Ofcourse I have to stop the current dbus and hal, but what do I need to 
do exactly to start everything once I logged into my gnome build from 
cvs. Tried already several things but things like dbus-monitor do not work
