Introspection & compound type signatures

Hi,

I think the thing to do is use the plain signature format for now, and
later we can add an optional "long format" which would use a different
attribute name or something. But it wouldn't hurt to do this post-1.0
once we have a better feel for all the use cases.

The 1.0 list is shockingly short at this point... I'd really like to
start pushing for API freeze (for libdbus, the bindings are less ready)
