Now Valgrind claims my factory is leaking.  I have a get() method which
dynamically generates a string and returns it via an "o" out argument,
which becomes a char**.

Interestingly sometimes the values leak, and sometimes valgrind says
they are still reachable, despite no obvious source of a pointer to
them.
