[Qt D-Bus] "Sorry, can't pass arg of type short yet"

I get subject message when using dbus command-line utility and attempting to 
call a method that takes a short (int16) argument.  I also get similar error 
when calling from dbus-viewer ("Cannot marshall parameter of type 127").

When can I expect short support to be added?  Needed for implementing 
Assistive Technology - Service Provider Interface (AT-SPI) over D-bus.
