dbus-glib installation problem

Can you suggest me a solution? I've found that exists a PKG_CONFIG 
variable which cans influence the dbus-glib ./configure and the make 
behavior. So I've set up PKG_CONFIG=$PKG_CONFIG_PATH but nothing seems 
to change...
