D-Bus service files dynamics

Hi D-Bus people,

I was wondering when D-Bus .service files are parsed, and how they are
cached. I've been told that those .service files are rather static,
and are not suitable for dynamic configuration changes.

If a user changes his defaults by editing the .service files in his
home directory, when will those changes take effect? I wasn't really
able to figure that easily out by testing, but it seemed to be that it
won't take effect immediately.
