system_bus_socket: No such file or directory

Hello list,

         I am  new to D-Bus.I am using lib-dbus in an ARM
platform.Cansomebody please tell me how can I create the
system_bus_socket.
When I call dbus-launch without any arguments,it creates the session bus and
returns the path and bus pid..the exact output is
#dbus-launch
DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS=unix:path=/tmp/dbus-IwWD9FI32l,guid=ff28c90c31ef8daa23c68c00000018f1
DBUS_SESSION_BUS_PID=348,

ps shows that dbus-daemon is running..

when I call dbus-launch with the config file for system message bus it
returns

#dbus-launch --config-file=/etc/dbus-1/system.conf
Failed to start message bus: Could not get UID and GID for username
"messagebus"
EOF reading PID from bus daemon

I get the same error message when I try to do a "dbus-daemon --system"
