Perhaps I'm missing something here, but does this imply that 1.2.16+ releases going forward will *only* support the x86 architecture? A lot of us (embedded) folks are using ARM on Linux and/or QNX systems. Will these platforms still be supported?

If platforms other than x86 are no longer going to be supported, then I guess I'd have a real issue with this. I hope I'm just confused here.
