Dbus multi-machine behavior

Does anyone know whether published D-bus services running on a linux box can be seen and used from a windows D-bus client? Vice versa?

My limited understanding is that D-bus was a local to machine only component framework.  Its not clear to me if this has been addressed since the windows and linux versions merged.  I didn't see this in any FAQ or release notes about the merged version.

Thanks in advance for answering this basic newbie question.
