I am not closely involved with RHEL. Suffice to say that it is very
unlikely that we'd upgrade dbus to >= 1.4.0 in the RHEL releases that
old.

I am suggesting to drop support for dnotify for 1.4.x, not for the
already released versions like 1.2.x.
