3.5 mm Speaker Jack Detection

Hi,

I am trying to detect plugging and unplugging of 3.5 mm  Audio Jack.
I tried to use d-feet, udevadm monitor, reading /proc. But to no avail.

Can some one guide me as how to proceed, Or whether there is any mechanism
present in Linux for the same.
