Bluetooth headset not appearing in pavucontrol

No.

The error sounds familiar. I probably had the same problem. IIRC, I
fixed (or worked around) the problem by adding "Enable=Socket"
to /etc/bluetooth/audio.conf. It's not completely clear to me what that
does and why it's not that way by default.
