Help in dbus system bus

Hi,

My requirement is to monitor Ethernet and other peripherals on my board.
I need some mechanism using dbus from which whenever there is hardware 
change on board my application get notified. and according to that i can 
make further changes from my application.

Can anyone provide my simple example of above use case?
