Help in dbus system bus

Wouldn't udev be the thing for this?

When new h/w gets added it removed, udev will inform you via events. You
can then do whatever you want in resp to it, eg send a msg over dbus to
your specific service informing it of the event.

Look at how std Linux distros handle such scenarios using udev.
