What would the cost/benefit picture look like of rewriting libdbus so it uses BUS1 behind the scenes *without* introducing a dependency on systemd? The old AF_BUS analyses mention something like a factor 2 reduction in overhead (context switches etc); would that be achievable with the current D-Bus code and BUS1?
(I'm aware that this doesn't translate to 2x faster.)
