I guess that's because DejaVu misses the greek letters from
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mathematical_Alphanumeric_Symbols

Note that in general the math support in DejaVu is very limited at the moment.
But a little bird told me that something better was in progress, so stay
tuned...
