Hi,
I have a fresh install of Freebsd 8.1. As part of gnome2 installation, when trying to do a port install for upower I get the following failure:
===> Applying FreeBSD patches for upower-0.9.7
=> Patch patch-src_freebsd_up-backend.c failed to apply cleanly.
*** Error code 1
To get around this, I moved the patches out of the way one by one. It turns out that none of the 3 patch files would apply successfully.
After removing the patches, everything compiled clean but there was a linker error for a missing symbol 'up_backend_get_powersave_command'. I noticed patch patch-src_freebsd_up-backend.c tries to remove this function but it looks like it is already removed in the original source. I went ahead and added the function back in returning NULL as before, and then it installed cleanly. I'm not sure how significant the patches that did not apply are. Does anyone have any insight on this problem?
Thanks,
Jerry
