I'd have to double check, but I thought at least for removable media
it should be possible to create fstab entries without admin

Well, yeah. As I mentioned earlier, there is currently no mechanism to
set global defaults. I think it would be useful to allow that.

Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the
universe are pointed away from Earth?
