Upowerd, constantly hogging my CPU power to 100%

Hello,

I hope this is the right place to post this.

For a week now, not long after my each boot, upowerd starts causing
unbearable lag spikes for my CPU.

I'm using a laptop, namely Lenovo Y700. The start of the issue coincides
with when I switched to using my graphics card (nvidia) on performance
mode and I fixed a page tear issue the same day.

As I said earlier the lag spikes take a little bit of time to start
appearing after each boot.
But when they do I can see upowerd is taking 100% of cpu when it lags.

I created a stackoverflow question here
<https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/647170/why-is-usr-lib-upower-upowerd-consuming-100-cpu-causing-freezes-for-seconds>
.
IF there is any extra info I can provide please let me know how and I will
provide it immediately.

Thanks in advance, any help is appreciated as this is unbearable and
frustrating. It doesn't let me do anything and I have to keep restarting my
laptop.

/me goes to restarts again 🙃
