There is discussion about this topic:

Basically, when use some filesystem and hibernate, then start another system,
many bad things could happen. Currently, grub automatically starts hibernated
OS, but there could be cases, when this is no sufficient.
Nobody need filesystem failure or data lost or other error causes running
another OS than hibernates our PC, when it was powered off lately.
Solution could be different. First is to deny to hibernate, when there is
another OS installed. Second could be only warn, when user try to hibernate.
You could probably solve it by deny to hibernate, but warn message is rather
related to DE. If you decided best solution is to warn, I will send this
message to KDE/GNOME/other DE mailing lists.
This mail was send there, cause Thomas Renninger's suggestion. This suggestion
occur in linked discussion.
Best regards,
Lach Sławomir.
