to summarize:

OPTIONS:
PageFlipping false
SwapBuffersWait false
vsync in kde desktop effects settings disabled

RESULTS:
using 3.0 kernel    -> 60 fps as maximum and vsync seems to be actually
disabled
using 2.6.38 kernel -> 100/120 fps as maximum and vsync seems to be actually
disabled
