[regression v3.7] Xorg slow and studdering on Thinkpad X300 (GMA 965)

Hi!

I've noticed a regression using 3.7 on my Thinkpad X300.

In Cinnamon and in KDE with Desktop Effects, all graphics are slow and 
studdering. Moving a window results in about 5 frames per second.

glxgears achieves about 14 fps, versus ~60 in unaffected kernels.

X is from Debian unstable:

X.Org X Server 1.12.4
Release Date: 2012-08-27

I did a bisect on this:

f047e395ddc9da6c307a10629a237502e627ed85 is the first bad commit.
a7b9761d0a2ded58170ffb4d423ff3d7228103f4 is "good".
