The oops happens in X(KDE) when I run:
# xrandr -d :0 --output LVDS1 --off --noprimary
# xrandr -d :0 --output VGA1 --mode 1280x1024 --refresh 75
(I have a laptop and an external monitor connected to the laptop VGA
port; with the above commands I close the laptop LCD and I only use the
external VGA  display).
