2015021218dmesg.txt - lockup of screen except for mouse, was able to restart
kdm

For the first time when I experienced a lock-up due to running vlc with vdpau,
although the desktop was locked up apart from the mouse cursor, I was able to
control-alt-F1 and restart kdm successfully. 

Using current Linus' git head.
