Just tried Mesa-Git (13.1) with the AMDGPU driver on R9 270X. The crash happens
here as well.

However, looking at journalctl I can see new errors from the AMDGPU driver, and
a brief research tells me it could be some TF2 texturing problem.

The error: GPU fault detected: 147 0x000ac802
