DVI output on i.MX51 EVP board not working?

An extra data point: I tried with an older monitor (max 1280x1024) w/ DVI to
DVI cable, exactly the same behavior: u-boot shows output but "no signal" when
kernel boots. I was not able to go all the way back though, and only tested
this with mainline.
