2) Change display settings using 'gnome-control-center display'.

- Set the DELL 27-inch display to primary (Primary means "Show the top
  bar and Activities Overview on this display").

- Set the Built-in display to secondary display (Secondary Display means
  "Join this display with another to create an extra workspace").

- Arrange Combined Displays.

3) The output of the xrandr command after changing the display setting
is as follows.

This odd behavior not occur in the 4.10 kernel.
