Sounds like you misunderstood me:

> HugePages_Free:        0
> HugePages_Rsvd:        0
> HugePages_Surp:        0
> Hugepagesize:       2048 kB

Huge pages are always disabled on your system. It would be interesting to see
what happens when you try to enable them, not disable them.
