So I think there are a few issues with what we've got now

1) lt->bridge.ops = lt->hdmi_port->ops does not guarantee that the
functionality we're advertising in .ops is what we have implemented in
.funcs

2) The documentation is pretty clear about bridge drivers being
required to implement support for all connector related operations
that are supported by the hardware.[1]
