However I have to make an observation on something you said here; The issue I referenced also started happening when my distribution introduced a major Mesa update. From the notes I've taken, that was indeed upgrading from Mesa 13.0 to 17.0.1. Several articles further confirm that Mesa 17 was introduced to openSUSE Tumbleweed at the beginning of March 2017, which is precisely when I began noticing my issue and reported it soon after. I'll check to see if I can download and install a free version of Unreal Editor 4 for Linux, so I can confirm that it's the same problem then better replicate it (Plasma desktop does it very unpredictably).
