Hello.

I have been reading through the nouveau wiki to figure out how I could
compile the nouveau kernel driver for the linux 2.6.32-20 kernel
specifically.

Why I need to do this is kind of a long story, but I assure you it is
necessary. And I can explain why if you are interested.

I am currently running Debian 6.0 squeeze. The standard debian 2.6.32
kernel includes the nouveau drivers and I have verified that X works
successfully on my computer. However, I need to compile the kernel from
source. The specific patch and version number, 2.6.32-20, are
important. I downloaded the 2.6.32-20 kernel directly from the
kernel.org website. I was able to configure and compile it
successfully; I verified that it booted and ran successfully as well.

The problem is that the standard 2.6.32 kernel does not include the
nouveau drm drivers. You might suppose I could use the source code for
the debian 2.6.32 kernel, however I cannot get the specific patch level
that I need.

Is there a way I could obtain the drm driver folder without the rest of
the kernel? It seems like the instructions provided in the wiki give
you instruction for downloading the entire kernel source and configuring
nouveau with the rest of the kernel. I just need a way of compiling the
nouveau driver using the kernel version I mentioned above.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks
