Maybe the best approach is to add a new imx6qdl-wandboard-revd1.dtsi upstream.
I do have access to a Wandboard revB1.

I remember that Wifi used to work fine on the version of wandboard that I have.
Do you see this issue only on imx6qp wandboard?
Back to the original X11 issue: can you send me offline an Ubuntu
17.04 SD card image that I can try?
I would like test it on a imx6q sabresd board.
