Hangcheck Recovery triggers CPU lockup?

Hello!

I am currently investigating mysterious device lockups on an i.MX6Quad with a Kernel 4.14.134. The symptom is a complete CPU halt with not even a JTAG debugger being able to connect. Right before the lockups (as far as the logs can tell me) the etnaviv driver determined a GPU lockup and issued a reset. Most of the time the recovery works without a problem. But apparently, it's the last thing the system does before it locks up. Have there already been reports regarding GPU resets triggering CPU lockups?
