I do have access to a Wandboard revB1.

If you have a Wandboard revB1 and are willing to test the resulting dtb file, I can provide patches with the required changes to avoid conflicting definitions with rev D1. I can test rev C1 and D1. Then if we're happy with the results, I'll try to upstream them.

Do you see this issue only on imx6qp wandboard?

Back to the original X11 issue: can you send me offline an Ubuntu
17.04 SD card image that I can try?

I would like test it on a imx6q sabresd board.

I'll will send you a direct download link from dropbox as a personal email message. I've prepared a rootfs for Ubuntu Mate 17.04 with etnaviv pre-installed and configured. It shows all issues I've been talking about, the MMU faults as well as the unexpected screen blanking. Please remember that imx6q will work fine, these issues only occur on imx6qp. I didn't send a complete SD card image, as your hardware is different...
