Flatpak is a Red Hat product?

I see no comparison, if a NASA employee working on a project in their spare time, this project does not belongs to NASA:

Flatpak was strongly supported by the GNOME project, but I see around saying belonging to GNOME now that it is independent (still a sponsor). Snap is a project of Canonical in every way as it is not Flatpak of Red Hat, so catches my attention.

I found the following discussion on the mailing lists of LibreOffice. Is Flatpak a Red Hat product?, I think the LO article is poorly expressed.

a product in terms of something they produce and you pay for? No.
An opensource project RH heavily sponsors (Alex L is a "fellow" at RH)? yes

Thus, really comparable from a set up POV with the mentioned snap packages.
