Problems setting up flatpak edition of evolution

Hi folks:

I'm working with Linux Mint 20.3. Installed Flatpak according to the 
instructions for Ubuntu on the Flat-hub site (albeit with Flatpak*). 
Restarted. The Flatpak entry shows up in the software manager and the 
evolution entry shows up in the menu, but when I click the menu entry 
nothing activates. When I try in a terminal window I get this error message:

brian at brian-Aspire-ES1-511:~$ flatpak run org.gnome.Evolution
error: While opening repository /home/brian/.local/share/flatpak/repo: 
opening repo: opendir(objects): No such file or directory
brian at brian-Aspire-ES1-511:~$

Puzzled and confused. What am I doing wrong? What can I do to correct 
things and get the program functioning? Any help/advice would be greatly 
appreciated.
