Digging more into this I have

$ flatpak remote-ls -v opencpn
F: Opening system flatpak installation at path /var/lib/flatpak
F: Opening user flatpak installation at path /home/mk/.local/share/flatpak
F: Fetching summary file for remote ‘opencpn’
F: Invalid remote ref appstream2/x86_64
F: Invalid remote ref appstream/x86_64
F: Looking for AsApp for 'app/org.opencpn.OpenCPN/x86_64/master'
F: sifting through 0 apps for org.opencpn.OpenCPN
F: sifting through 0 apps for org.opencpn.OpenCPN.desktop

which could mean that my appdata.xml is broken (?). OTOH, it passes
'appstream-util validate-relax' without remarks.

Thoughts?
