Well, I have never seen any examples that embedded extra fonts and allowing to
select a font from those. for what? am I getting confused?

AFAIK they embed a font to provide same representation on different platforms.
I don't see any needs if one wants to use the system fonts instead of the
embedded fonts nor embedding extra fonts which may not be used in some cases.
