Two extra pieces of crucial information from the aforementioned bug
report on the mailing list [1]:

1. The offending commit is 7a4a5bd [2] "Properly validate offsets in
   cache files."

2. A previously valid cache of /System/Library/Fonts (created by fc
   2.12.0) can be downloaded from [3].
