Did you go back to using device-id/inode? That makes it not work for anything
that pre-generates an image which is deployed in some way that doesn't keep
these. For instance, ostree/flatpak or docker images. In fact, this is likely
to make the pregenerated font caches in e.g. the flatpak runtimes useless.
