Alas, fontconfig doesn't have any way of locating the .afm file related to 
a .pfa/.pfb.  You can pray that the .afm file is in the same directory as 
the .pfa/.pfb, but that's not universally true (perhaps we should 
encourage this to become more true in the future though).
