[Fontconfig] compiling fonconfig 2.0 under Linux

Hello "fontconfig team",

I am trying to compile fontconfig 2.0 on my machine (PC Intel running
Linux 2.4.2), but the gcc compiler complains it can not find the header
file freetype/ftsnames.h. It seems this file is not in the fontconfig 
package.
Have you any idea where this header file resides?
