Yes.  Take a look in the fonts.dtd file and you'll see that you can do:

	<edit name="family" binding="strong">
		<string>Console</console>
	</edit>

in a match/edit rule.   You can convert your alias expression to a match/
edit rule, instructions for that are also in the fonts.dtd file.
