[Fontconfig] Compiling fontconfig 2.3

  Hello,

I am trying to compile and install the fontconfig libraries on my Red Hat 
9.0 system. ./configure (without any parameters) runs without reporting 
any problems, but make reports the following (excerpt):

Am I missing some library necessary for the compilation?
