I strongly advise setting up a deadline for the workaround removal, based
on past history I'm quite sure that if fontconfig hides the bug no one
will fix the font (and Tex Gyre is supposed to be the future so letting it
rot is a very bad idea)

Especially if the same font works fine in other apps.
