From benjamin at sipsolutions.net Fri Aug 20 14:20:44 2021 From: benjamin at sipsolutions.net (Benjamin Berg) Date: Fri, 20 Aug 2021 16:20:44 +0200 Subject: [fprint] libfprint and fprintd 1.94.0 releases Message-ID: Hi, I released 1.94.0 for both. The major change in this release is suspend/resume support via systemd-logind. If the driver and hardware support it, then interactive operations can run over suspend, automatically resuming the laptop if a finger was presented. For this to work correctly, the "power/wakeup" and "power/persist" sysfs attributes of USB devices should be writeable. This might need adjustments in e.g. the selinux policies. See https://github.com/fedora-selinux/selinux-policy/issues/840 Other than that, there is now a runtime limitation for legacy devices (all non MoC devices right now). This was added as it is not clear whether some devices might overheat if used for prolonged periods of time. This should not affect usual usage at all, as pam_fprintd.so has a much lower internal timeout. Benjamin -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
