Treasurehunters Roadshow make offers based on what collectors are willing to payTreasure Hunters Roadshow make offers based on what collectors are willing to pay. When somebody decides to sell, they get paid on the spot and the items are sent to the collectors at their expense.
Tables are set up in multiple stations where Treasure Hunters Roadshow representatives sit to examine items, give amounts they think the items are worth and make an offer to buy.
Jeff Parsons of Treasure Hunters Roadshow recommends that people not clean antiques or potential collectibles because that could do serious damage to finishes or the item itself. Expect about a 45-minute wait, and those attending are encouraged to watch what other people bring and are offered.
Gold prices are reaching $1,100 an ounce in worldwide trading. Gold tends to rise in value when economic times are tough, Enright says.
Treasurehunters Roadshow Gold from jewelry, even broken, is being purchased. Other gold items include dental work, Krugerrands, scrap and coins.
Silver values are also at a 25-year high. Most coins made before 1965 are made of 90 percent silver.
