[fdo] Hotkey Configuration

Hello!
My question could be out of scope. I'm developing an application which stays in System Tray and whenever user hits a "hot" key (which they choose) my application window should popup. You can compare this with Command launcher (Alt + F2), Menu (Super) and so...
Hence my question is, as there are a lot of specifications by freedesktop.org, is there one for what I'm askking? If not, please tell me how can I do it? That is, give my application a global hotkey. (My application is written using Gtk3 and Python)
